Birch Hill is a family owned, traditional summer camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 16. Our elective program lets campers choose from over 50 activities to create their own personalized schedule throughout their 2, 4, or 6 week stay. We offer each camper the option to try new activities during the “personal choice period.” We are dedicated to providing a comfortable environment for every camper to feel safe, supported, and happy.

Birch Hill’s scenic acres make the perfect site for the total camping experience. Our facilities include an indoor gymnasium, horse stables, riding ring and trails, ball fields, 4 clay tennis courts, 2 paddle tennis courts indoor and outdoor basketball courts, beach volleyball, street hockey arena, golf driving range and a fun miniature golf course, along with our Stage and Fine Arts Complex that hosts our plays, special events and some of our most memorable “Evening Programs”. Located in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire, 10 miles south of Lake Winnipesaukee, 35 miles NW of Portsmouth, NH. Birch Hill features a crystal clear swimming lake with 2,000 feet of sandy beach shoreline and the expansive waters of Merry Meeting Lake for water-skiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Birch Hill just installed a High Ropes course that was designed specifically for our campers age range- did we mention it connects to our zip-line!

French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts

French Woods offers summer camp programs in dance, theater, music, circus, magic, visual arts, film and video, sports, tennis,
fitness, waterfront, skateboard, rock and roll and horseback
riding. We cater to children from 7-17 years old. Younger camper have more guidance and supervision, while older campers are able to take on some responsibility and have a chance to work in the areas of their interest.

Each camper designs his or her own unique summer experience. We feature world-class programs coached by diverse, multi-national and talented counselor and adult staff members.

Campers are able to focus on one particular area of interest, or they may choose to select a variety of our activities. Although we are a dance camp, theater camp, music camp, circus camp, magic camp, visual
arts camp, film and video camp, sports camp, tennis camp, fitness camp, waterfront camp, skateboard camp, rock and roll camp and horseback riding camp, we are also a camp that offers all the traditional camp activities that can be chosen a-la-carte.

French Woods is located on a private lake in the western Catskill Mountains of New York State near the Delaware River on the Pennsylvania Border. The camp is approximately two and a half hours from New York City, between Monticello and Binghamton.

Lake of the Woods

Lakeside Retreats on Lake of the Woods – a magnificent spring-fed lake in Decatur, Michigan – sits on a gorgeous 89-acre property. The property is unique in that it is actually four campuses in one – there are four distinct lodging areas with shared activity space and lakefront. This is a great feature for super-large groups (we can accommodate up to 980 guests!) who want a measure of intimacy and who want to have separate living facilities for different types of guests (i.e., mens-womens, kids-adults, beginners-advanced, etc.). It also offers the smaller group greater privacy when sharing the facility with others. The lodgings are modern, bright and airy, with high ceilings and newly renovated bathrooms and showers. Camp Mah Kee Nac

Located just outside the charming town of Lenox, Lakeside Retreats at Mah-Kee-Nac is great for groups seeking a private, quiet location with lots of outdoor facilities, yet one that is easily accessible to the many historic and cultural spots in the Berkshires. The lake is called Stockbridge Bowl, formerly named Lake Mah-Kee-Nac (meaning “moon over water” in the Algonquin language) and is a beautiful anchor to the 45-acre property.

Camp Akeela

Located on 400 acres in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Lakeside Retreats at Camp Akeela is a spot where groups can really “get away from it all” with spectacular scenery, privacy, and an abundance of outdoor activity choices. In addition to the natural wooded beauty of Vermont’s mountains, the property also boasts a location along the shores of Miller Pond, a pristine secluded lake, and is surrounded by some of the best hiking in New England. Despite the “remote feel” Akeela is easily accessible by car (2 1/2 hours from Boston, less than 5 hours from NYC) and by plane (it’s 25 minutes from Hanover, NH and the West Lebanon airport).

Camp Cobbossee

Lakeside Retreats at Cobbossee sits on 125 acres along a mile of magnificent shoreline amid Maine’s lush forests and national parks. It’s about 15 miles from Maine’s capitol, Augusta, and about an hours’ drive from the airport in Portland. The lake is a definite highlight – it’s beautiful, pristine, and large… 11 miles long and six miles across. The property features a small private island 250 yards off the lakefront dock – a great spot for adventure programs.

Cobbossee is located just one half mile from Lakeside Retreats’ other Maine property, Kippewa. The two facilities can be rented in tandem by very large groups that require separate facilities (split by gender, age or corporate divisions) but still want to meet as a large group and have some shared activities.

Camp Wicosuta

Situated on 100 wooded acres Lakeside Retreats at Wicosuta is ideal for groups that desire a beautiful setting. It’s a perfect spot for all sorts of celebrations as well as specialty sports camps and other special-interest groups (clubs, teams, organizations, and religious groups) who wish to “work” and play together. The campus is compact and there are showers in every cabin. Easily accessible, Wicosuta is located just off of I-93, about 2 hours from Boston and 5 from New York City.
